What Is CIM?

The Common Information Model (CIM) is a globally recognized international standard used by electric utilities to facilitate the exchange of information between systems and organizations. CIM enables system-wide interoperability, supporting integration efforts from enterprise-level planning to real-time operations. Its vendor-neutral architecture makes it foundational for Smart Grid development and digital transformation across utilities.

Who Should Attend

Utility professionals, system integrators, solution vendors, RTOs/ISOs, researchers, and regulators involved in energy systems architecture and integration will find this event invaluable. This includes IT managers, system engineers, data architects, operations personnel, and those supporting enterprise data initiatives. Vendors offering CIM-compliant tools and services are encouraged to exhibit and engage directly with the user community.

The meeting is open to all current or prospective CIM users – UCAIug membership is not required to attend. Attendees will benefit from live demonstrations, interactive workshops, and peer-to-peer learning with CIM experts from around the globe.
