CIM USERS GROUP MEETING:
Enabling the Smart Grid
with the Common Information Model
with the Common Information Model
December 15-18, 2008 >> Microsoft Campus, Redmond, WA
Introduction
Recent legislation has brought the Smart Grid concept to the forefront of the electric utility industry. Realizing the potential of the smart grid will require extensive system integration, and standards are critical. The Common Information Model (CIM) is an international standard now accepted globally for modelling the information exchanges required in electric utilities. The CIM is independent of any individual application, middleware, or message protocols used for information exchange. The CIM User Group (CIMug) was formed for users to get information on the progress of the CIM and to share their project experiences. The user group holds two meetings each year (one in Europe and one in the U.S.). Recognized experts share their insights and resolve key technical issues. Each meeting also includes pre-conference tutorials, vendor exhibits, and social networking opportunities.
Who Should Attend
Utilities that are using standards-based integration to meet their business challenges will find this conference invaluable. Project managers, system architects, business and IT managers, and control center personnel will all benefit from this meeting.
